Horse Racing?
I have recently watched the movie "Pharlap" which was based ona true story. After finishing watching it, I realised that horse racing can be really cruel to the horses. I saw how hard they pushed the horse, made him sick, and how the crowd would ‘poison’ or hurt him if he lost or in fact even won a race. Does anyone agree with me? That horse racing is cruel?

Should Churchill Downs consider switching to a synthetic racing surface such as Polytrack?
Churchill Downs has said they they are not currently considering switching to synthetic Polytrack, which has been shown to reduce horse injuries. In light of the injuries and euthanasia of Eight Belles after the 2008 Kentucky Derby, should Churchill Downs consider doing so and do you think there will be a widespread push for them to do so?

Kentucky Derby?
I recently moved to Kentucky and I’ve becoming increasingly interested in the Kentucky Derby. I know it’s a big part of my state’s culture and I’d like to get in on the action. How are the horses narrowed down? How do I check their stats? What does all the numbers mean? When do the initial races start? Basically, I need to know everything you know about the Kentucky Derby.

ok in the section "horse racing" on here…..the only thing people are asking is why people kill horses when they break their legs because of the breeders cup accident. theres like 20 questions that are asking that……are they just too stupid to scroll down and look at the other answers instead of asking it again, because their asking the same question their just going to get the same answers.
What do you feed your Thoroughbred horse?
The question is pretty self explanatory. What I would like to know is the diets you feed your Thoroughbred horse. I am going to be buying one soon and I know how high strung they can be and so I would like to know if there is anything I should add to her diet if it is lacking in her current diet.

i’ve been looking for the perfect horse for about five years now but i’ve never really even considered a thoroughbred. i know thoroughbreds are famous for their racing. i also need one that is well with cattle and all types of riders just in case anyone else want to ride for some reason. any way do you think this is the horse for me?
